Halloween Party

Yesterday, after we went to eat we went straight to the Halloween party at Church. We had not planned on eating afterwards with everyone, so we didn't have enough time to get back to the house and pick up Kenshi's costume. Sorry Kenshi. It was more of a shock for Mama. It was Trunk or Treat and many people decorated the trunks of their cars.

＜ハロウィーンパーティー＞
昨日はレストランを出た後、教会のハロウィーンパーティーへ。
試合の後にみんなで夕食を食べに行くことを予想していなかったので、ケンくんのコスチュームは家に置いたまま…。
家まで取りに帰る余裕もなく、ケンくんはコスチュームなしでした。
ごめんね、ケンくん。
と言うより、ママがショックでした。
教会のパーティーでは、『Ｔｒｕｎｋ ｏｒ Ｔｒｅａｔ』というのをしました。
車のトランクの中にあるキャンディを子供達が「Ｔｒｉｃｋ ｏｒ ｔｒｅａｔ！」と言ってもらいに回ります。
トランクには色々な仕掛けやデコレーションがしてあり、見て回るだけでもとても楽しかったです。

There were many types of costumes and the children were so cute. Near the end of the party we were introduced to a very nice family. The wife was Japanese and the husband also spoke Japanese very well. The children also spoke Japanese and English. We had a great conversation. It was fun.

子供達も色んなコスチュームで変身していてかわいかったです。
そして、パーティーが終わる頃、お母さんが日本人、お父さんがアメリカ人という家族に出会いました。
二人のお子さんは流暢な日本語と英語を話されていて、旦那さんもとても日本語が上手でした。
自己紹介から始まり、バイリンガルの育て方など、色んなお話ができてとても楽しかったです。

This Halloween was, of course, Kenshi's first Halloween, but it was also my first real Halloween. Last year I was pregnant and in Japan. The year before that I was at language school and experienced a Halloween dance and dressed up, but when there are children involved it is totally different. This time we bought a costume, but one day I would like to make a costume!

今年のハロウィーンは、もちろんケンくんにとって初めてのハロウィーンですが、私にとっても初めての本格的なハロウィーン。
去年は出産のため日本にいたし、語学学校に行っていた時もハロウィーンは経験しましたが、仮装してダンスパーティーに行ったくらいで、やっぱり子供がいるのとは全然違います。
今回はお店でコスチュームを買いましたが、いつか子供のコスチュームを作りたいな～！
