ベイビーシャワー Baby Shower

 

年明けの5日、教会の方が私のベイビーシャワーをして下さいました。
ベイビーシャワーとは、出産前にする女性だけのお祝いパーティー。
必要な物がほとんど揃う、 有り難い習慣です。
今回、私は三人目＋男の子なので、必要な物はオムツやおしりふきなどの消耗品。
そういう場合は、「ダイパーシャワー」と言われるらしいです。
オムツやおしりふき、ボディソープ、ブランケット、洋服など、た～くさん頂きました。

The sisters from my ward planned a baby shower for me on the 5th.

I got diapers, wipes, soap and blankets etc.

 

 

 

ホストの方が作って下さった招待状と、来て頂いた人へのプレゼント。

They are so cute!

頂いたプレゼントの中でお気に入りの手作りのブランケットとヨダレかけ、おもちゃ。
なんと！私が教会で教えている11歳の女の子が作ってくれました！

 

These are one of my favorite gifts from the baby shower.
One of my Activity Days girls made me a blanket, bib and toy.
She has such a wonderful talent!

いつも優しく私達をサポートして下さる教会の方々に本当に感謝です。

 

It was a very fun baby shower.
I am thankful for my ward's sisters' friendship and support.

独立記念日

今日はアメリカの独立記念日、4th of Julyで祝日でした。

去年と同じようなスケジュールになったマクラフリン家の独立記念日。

お昼前から家族で映画館へ。

「BRAVE」という映画を見てきました。

可愛くて、ところどころに笑いあり、最後はうるっと感動させられる映画でした。

去年は「Cars2」で映画館デビューのボーイズでしたが、

今年はユウくんも3歳になって、最後までずっと座って見ることができました。

（時々、「えっ、なんって？どうしたの？」と質問をしてくる声が大きかったですが。汗）

映画が終わってからも「もういっかい みていーい？」と、この映画がお気に入りだったようです。

ちなみに、こちらの映画の通常料金は（私達が行ったところは）、

3歳までは、タダ。

4～11歳までは、6.75ドル。

大人は、7.50ドル。

ユウくんが3歳の内にまた家族で映画館デートしたいな～。

映画から帰った後は少しお昼寝をしたりして、

夕方からは、去年もパーティーに誘ってくれた家族のパーティーへ。

こてこての南部料理を頂きました。

とにかく、油、油、油！

魚の揚げ物とコーンブレッドの揚げ物、グリーントマトの揚げ物など。

（とにかく何でも揚げるのが南部料理らしいです）

そして、野菜系はマヨネーズを使ったコールスローやポテトサラダ。

お味は全て美味しかったですが、後で胃がもたれて大変でした・・・。汗

さすがのジェイソンも帰りには「胃が・・・」と苦しんでいました。

2年前に胆石で胆嚢ごと摘出した私ですが、もしまだ胆石を持っていたら、

夜中に石が動き出して転げまわってたんだろうなー、なんて考えてしまいました。笑

食事の後はプ～ル～！

この大きなジェット機？がお気に入りだったボーイズ。

ケンくん、いい顔してます。

教会でもいつも仲良くしてくれるお兄ちゃんお姉ちゃん達に遊んでもらって、

大大大はしゃぎのボーイズでした。

夜は毎年恒例の地元の花火へ。

初めは怖がってグランマにベッタリだったユウくんも、

最後は花火と共に大声を上げて楽しんでいました。

花火には、ばあばが送ってくれた甚平を着て行きました。
（甚平のことを「忍者」と呼んで、甚平が大好きなボーイズです）

 

今年の独立記念日もとても疲れたけど、家族と一緒に楽しい一日を過ごしました。

イースター･クラフト

イースターと言えば、お決まりのこれ。

ボーイズとパパがきれいに卵を染めてくれました。

後片付けがちょっと大変なハンドペイントですが、

とっても楽しんでいたボーイズでした。

今年はイースター･ケーキを作ってみました。

最近、縫い物にハマっている私。

ボーイズのイースター･ネクタイと、

お小遣いを貯めているボーイズのためにコインパースを作りました。

ネクタイはちょっと短すぎたので、近い内に再挑戦！

でも、どちらもボーイズが喜んでくれたので、ママ嬉し～！

我が家のイースター

イースターの朝。

イースター･バニーからのプレゼントを見つけて、朝から大喜びのボーイズ。

イースター･バニーのために置いた人参もちゃんと食べてくれて良かったね。 

窓から外を見ると、卵がいーっぱい！

エッグハント、スタートです。

早朝＋パジャマ姿だったので（ケンくんは江頭スタイル？！笑）、

寒がりのユウくんには少し酷なエッグハントになったようです。

「寒いのなんてへっちゃら、キャンディー欲しいです」のケンくんは、

必死に走り回ってたくさん（ほとんど？！）卵を取っていました。

イースター･バニーはボーイズの大好きなハイチュウも卵に入れてくれたようです。

楽しいイースターの朝でした♪

パンプキンパッチ Pumpkin Patch

2010/10/16

ハロウィーンに続いてパンプキンパッチの記録も・・・。

Along with Halloween, I will write about the pumpkin patch.




家から45分くらい離れた農場へパンプキンパッチに。

We went to a pumpkin patch about 45 minutes away from the house.

お目当てのヘイライドはお値段高めだったので、お値段安めのトラクタートレインを楽しみました。

The hey ride was expensive, so we went on the less expensive Tractor ride.

ハロウィーン Halloween

感謝祭も終わってしまいましたが、忘れないうちにハロウィーンの記録を・・・。

Thanksgiving already ended, but before I forget I will write about Halloween.




ハロウィーンのあった週は、色んなイベントに参加して楽しいハロウィーンを過ごしました。
今年は、ケンくんは「お猿さん」、ユウくんは必然的に去年のケンくんのお下がりで「ドラキュラ」。

During the week of Halloween we were fortunate to be able to attend many different activities.
This year Kenshi was a monkey and Yuushi was Kenshi's costume from last year Dracula.




自称「お猿さん」なだけに、よく似合っていたケンくん。

He is a self professed monkey and looked cute in his costume.

いざ、Trick or Treatへ！

Finally, we went trick or treating!
Jason is supposed to be Woody from Toy Story.






私達家族にとって初めての本格的なTrick or Treet。
こんなトラクターの荷台に乗って、教会の方の近所を回って行きました。

This our family's first real trick or treat.
We got to ride on the trailer behind a four wheeler around our friends neighborhood.






お兄ちゃんやお姉ちゃん達に付いて、ケンくんもキャンディーのために一生懸命走って家々を回りました。

Kenshi followed the older kids from house to house as best as he could to get candy.






近所のお宅のハロウィーンパーティーで。

We went to the Neighbor's house for a Halloween Party.






来年は家族一緒に何かに仮装したいな～！

Next year I want to dress up the family together!

感謝祭 Thanksgiving

今年もあっという間に感謝祭の季節。
今年の感謝祭は、ジェイソンの両親、おばあちゃん、私達、食事に私達のお友達も招待して、楽しい感謝祭を過ごしました。

This year went by so fast and it is already Thanksgiving.
This year we had Thanksgiving with Jason's parents, Grandma Copley,  us and we invited some friends to join us.
We had a great time.




ケンくんもたくさんお手伝いしてくれました！
ピスタチオプディングサラダをまぜまぜ～。

and taste testing, which of course he did a lot of.

お友達が作ってくれたロール、お義母さんと私、ジェイソン、ケンくんが作った料理。
全部すんごく美味しかったです☆

The rolls were made by our friends. Jason's mom and I cooked the food with Jason and Kenshi's help.
All of it was wonderful!




美味しい料理でお腹を満たした後は、お外遊び～！

After filling our tummies with good food, it was time to go outside!






可愛いカレンちゃんを前に、かなりレディファーストだったケンくん。
カレンちゃんのためにお馬さんをトレーラーの上まで運んであげていました。
なんて素敵な息子なの？！（←親ばか～。笑）

感謝祭の翌日は、いよいよクリスマスの準備！
ツリーを出して、オーナメントを飾ったり、家の中をクリスマス仕様に模様替え。

The day after Thanksgiving was time to put up Christmas decorations!
We got the tree out, hung ornaments and made the inside look like Christmas.




ユウくんとケンくんもお手伝い。

感謝祭の翌日から少し冷え込み始めたアラバマですが、感謝祭当日はエアコンに半袖でした～！

The day after Thanksgiving started to get chilly, but we had the airconditioner on for Thanksgiving Day!

Trick or Treat

Today was the day we had been waiting for, Halloween. In the morning it was raining, but about noon the rain stopped, so we went trick or treating at the zoo.

At the zoo entrance, they were handing out papers with riddles on them, that sent you all around the zoo. Once you got all 6 stamps you got a candy bag.





Jason had to coach so we didn't have much time anyways, but then it started to pour down rain, so we sprinted to the end. We got wet and we were rushing through, but we still had fun.


In the bag was some applesauce, a doughnut voucher, and stickers.



At night we headed to the mall. Almost all of the stores had candy for the kids. I forgot to take my camera so I don't have any pictures, but little dracula had fun going around the mall as well. Thanks to Kenshi, Mama got more candy!

Pumpkin Carving

It was about time to get started on the pumpkin carving. I was looking forward to it, but at the same time thinking it could be such a pain. But after getting started, it was quite fun and we really got into it. I had never done it before and was so excited, I carved a cat and Kenshi's favorite, a Train, into the pumpkin. It didn't turn out well so I did not take a picture LOL. On the left is Yuushi's pumpkin and on the right is Kenshi's pumpkin.


After carving pumpkins, the mountainful of seeds that we pulled out, we cooked and ate them. Jason ate the seed covering and all, but I had to peel them. They tasted ''ok'' but I couldnt stop eating them.

Trunk or Treat

We went to the Church Halloween party. Kenshi dressed up as a little Dracula.


Yuushi dressed up as a pea pod that one of our friends let us borrow.


This is Kenshi's Thomas candy bucket that we bought more than a month ago.


At the Trunk or Treat Kenshi got some candy for Mama (Unfortunately Kenshi did not get even one piece. Sorry Kenshi).


It was fun.
