Takayuki Suzuki & Home Game -Portland-

Today was a home game against the Portland Timbers. On Portland's team was Suzuki Takayuki who played in the J-League and also the World Cup. Normally, the only Japanese people who come to the game are Kazu, Hiromi, and myself, but today quite a few Japanese people came to cheer for Suzuki. After the game we invited Suzuki to come to our house. Kazu, Hiromi and Mia also came and we ate pizza and had a good time.

＜鈴木選手＆ホームゲーム　－ポートランド－＞
今日は、ポートランド・ティンバースとのホームゲームがありました。
ポートランドには、元ＪリーガーでＷ杯にも出場した鈴木隆行選手がいます。
普段、試合を見に来る日本人は、私やカズさん家族ぐらいですが、今日は鈴木選手の応援に日本人の方もけっこう来ていました。
結果は、２－０でシルバーバックスが敗退してしまいましたが、とてもいい試合だったと思います。
試合の後は、鈴木選手を我が家へ招待しました。
カズさん家族も一緒に、みんなでピザを食べながら楽しいひとときを過ごしました。
色々貴重なお話が聞けてとても楽しかったです♪

Baby Food

It has been about 3 weeks since we started baby food. My mother sent us some baby food for Kenshi, but he didn't seem to like it. When I called my mother for advice she said put sweet potato in it. Kenshi said "yum yum" and ate alot. That makes me feel better.

＜離乳食＞
離乳食を始めて、約３週間経ちました。
母が送ってくれた日本の離乳食の素などを入れてあげていましたが、ここ２、３日は離乳食を嫌がって食べてくれませんでした。
また母に電話してアドバイスをもらい、今日はさつま芋のペーストしたものをお粥に入れてみました。
ケンくん、「んまんま」と言いながら、たくさん食べてくれました♪
一安心です。

Table & Book Shelf

Dad finished the table and the book shelf we asked him to make. It looks like a professional did it. Jason and I really like it. In our house we have a 4 piece Kevin Collection (Book shelf, table, coffee table and baby cradle). Our apartment finally looks like an apartment.

ジェイソンのお父さんにお願いしていた、テーブルと本棚が出来上がりました！
職人さんが作ったみたいに素晴らしい出来です。
ジェイソンも私もとても気に入っています。
これで、我が家にはケヴィンコレクションが４つになりました。
本棚とダイニングテーブル、コーヒーテーブル、ベイビーベッド。
暖かい木の風合いで、部屋の中もいい感じになってきました♪

Home Game -Puerto Rico-

Today was a home game against Puerto Rico Islanders. Early this month we played Puerto Rico and tied, but this time the Silverbacks won 3 to 1. Dad, Mom and Katie came to cheer. Dad and Katie got good seats, but they gave them to mom and I. Dad took care of Kenshi the whole 1st half so I was able to focus on the game. Thanks Dad! After the game we went to my favorite dessert place. It is like a shaved ice but the ice has milk in and it is really big with lots of toppings. It was very fun.

＜ホームゲーム　－プエルトリコ―＞
今日はプエルトリコ・アイランダーズとのホームゲームがありました。
プエルトリコとは、今月の初めにも戦っていて、前回は引き分けでした。
が、今回は３－１でシルバーバックスの快勝！
今日はジェイソンのお父さんとお母さん、妹のケイティが応援に来てくれました。
お父さんとケイティはプラチナチケットをゲット。
でも、それをお母さんと私に譲ってくれました♪
前半は、お父さんがずっとケンくんを見ていてくれたので、私は試合に集中できました。
お父さん、ありがとう！
試合の後は、最近お気に入りのかき氷屋さんへ。
ここのかき氷、氷にミルクが入っていて、とてもおいしいんです。
トッピングも色々選べて、しかも１個がすごく大きい！
みんなでかき氷を食べながら楽しいひとときを過ごしました。

First Swim

Today Kenshi and I went to the apartment gym. While I was riding the bike Kenshi started to cry so I called Papa who was taking a nap and he came and put Kenshi in the pool. It was Kenshi's first swim. It was wide and a little cold, so at first he wasn't sure if he liked it. When I got out to the pool he seemed to be relaxed and was having fun. Three days before my camera broke, so I don't have any pool pictures...

＜初プール＞
今日は、ケンくんを連れてアパートのジムへ。
自転車をこいでいたらケンくんがグズリ出したので、家で昼寝をしていたパパを起こして、ケンくんとパパはプールへ。
ケンくんにとって初めてのプールです。
広くて冷たいプールに、初めは少しビビリ気味だったようです。
私がプールに行った時には、少しリラックスして楽しそうでした。
３日前にデジカメが壊れてしまい、ケンくんの初プールを撮ることができませんでした…。

Yoga

Today I went with Hiromi to do Yoga at the gym she attends. When I was in Japan I went Yoga once a week, but that was 2 years ago. Before I was able to do Yoga well but after having a child, it was difficult because I had lost muscle and my balance was bad. Yoga is fun and it sure feels good to get a little exercise. While I was at Yoga Kenshi went with Papa grocery shopping.

＜ヨガ＞
今日は、ヒロミさんが通っているジムのヨガクラスへ一緒に行ってきました。
日本では週一でジムのヨガクラスに行っていましたが、約２年ぶり、久々のヨガです。
以前は楽にできていたヨガですが、出産後は筋肉も落ち、片足で立つのもフラフラ。
出産後は、育児に託けて運動から遠ざかっていましたが、やっぱり体を動かすのはいいものですね。
久しぶりのヨガ、楽しかったです♪
私がヨガをしている間、ケンくんとパパはお買い物へ。
終始いい子にしてくれていたみたいです。

Alabama

Because Jason was away for games from the 9th to the 15th, for one week, Kenshi and I spent time in Alabama with Grandma and Grandpa McLaughlin. We went for walks, went shopping, went to Aubrey's wedding shower, and other many fun things. Kenshi may have known that Papa was gone because he complained more than usual, but had lots of fun playing Grandma and Grandpa and others.

＜アラバマ＞
９～１５日までの１週間、ジェイソンが遠征でいなかったので、私とケンくんはジェイソンの実家へ。
アラバマでは、１日に何度も外に散歩に出かけたり、買い物に行ったり、オーブリーのブライダルシャワーに行ったり、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
ケンくんはパパがいないのが分かったのか、いつもよりちょっとグズリ気味でしたが、おじいちゃんとおばあちゃんを始め、みんなにたくさん遊んでもらいました。

While he was in Alabama, Kenshi got very strong.

We put some milk powder in some rice for baby food, and he seemed to liked it.

普通のお粥にちょっと粉ミルクを入れてみたら、よく食べてくれました。

Friends

Today Kazu, Hiromi and Mia came to play at our house. When we saw Mia before she was only able to crawl, but today she was walking very well. She was like an older sister, petting Kenshi head. Kazu and Hiromi are Jason's friends from when he lived here 2 years ago. They also came to our after wedding lunch. It was very fun to have them over.

今日は、カズさんとヒロミさん、ミアちゃんが我が家へ遊びに来てくれました。
この間までハイハイしていたミアちゃんが、今日は上手に歩いていてビックリ！
ケンくんの頭をなでてくれたり、とてもお姉さんらしかったです。
カズさんとヒロミさんは、ジェイソンが２年前にアトランタに住んでいた時に知り合ったそうで、私達の結婚式の後のランチにも来てくれました。
二人はいつも私達を助けてくれたり、頼りになるお兄さんお姉さんって感じです。
今日もたくさん話せて楽しかったです♪

Real Food

Kenshi started to eat baby food today. Put rice in the mixer with some water and baby food came out. He wasn't sure if he liked it, but he ate it.

Lately Kenshi has been able to sit by himself for about 5 minutes. He can't sit himself up yet but not too much longer.

最近のケンくんは、おすわりが上手になりました。
長い時には５分以上、ひとりでおすわりができます。
まだ自分で起き上がって座ることはできませんが、その日も近いかな。

Food Shopping

Today Jason had the day off so we went to a far away butcher shop. Our friends suggested we go a while back, but finally found a time when we could do it. All the meat looked very good. We left with ham, steak and chicken. The chicken was fresh and was a different color to the chicken we always buy. Can't wait to eat it! On the way back we stopped by the Japanese food store. I found fish from my home town! Since coming back we have eaten nothing but meat and so we both wanted to eat some fish. After we left the store we went to the Japanese bookstore next door. The guy that worked there remembered Jason from 2 years ago. However a 600 yen (about 6 dollars) magazine cost 15 dollars. Very Expensive!

＜食料調達＞
今日はジェイソンがオフだったので、ちょっと遠くにあるお肉屋さんへ。
友達オススメのお肉屋さんで、なかなか行けなかったけど、今日やっと行ってきました。
生肉から加工してあるお肉まで、どれもおいしそうでした。
私達は、ハムとステーキ、チキンを購入。
チキンは、いつも買っているのと色が違います！
食べる日が楽しみです♪
お肉屋さんの後は、帰り道にある日本のスーパーへ。
ここで懐かしいものを発見！
地元の食品会社のお魚を見つけました。
アメリカに来てからお肉ばかりだったので、ジェイソンとも「魚が食べたいねー」と話していたところ、いいものを見つけました♪
スーパーを出た後は、隣にある日本の本屋さんへ。
ジェイソンが２年前にアトランタに住んでいた時、ここの本屋さんに来たことがあるみたいで、店員さんもジェイソンのことを覚えていて下さいました。
しかし、６００円の雑誌が１５ドルなんて、高すぎるぅー！

Home Game -Carolina-

Today Jason had a home game against the Carolina Railhawks. Before today they had already tied them twice. This time the Silverbacks scored in the 88th minute and finished the game 1 to 0. Jason's Dad, Jon and Aubrey came to root for the Silverbacks (to play with Kenshi mostly). Kenshi got to play lots with Grandpa.

＜ホームゲーム　－カロライナ－＞
今日はカロライナ・レールホークスとのホームゲームがありました。
カロライナは、今シーズンすでに２回戦っている相手で、２回とも引き分けでした。
今回の試合では、シルバーバックスが残り２分というところで点を決め、そのまま１－０でシルバーバックスの勝利！
今日はジェイソンのお父さん、弟、弟の婚約者が応援に来てくれました。
ケンくんはおじいちゃんにたくさん遊んでもらって良かったね。

Memorial Day

Today we went to Alabama for Memorial Day. I drove 1/3 of the way. Lately I have been driving a little more but find it hard to get used to how fast everyone drives. Kenshi slept some of the way, but was a good boy all the way there. While we were in Alabama, Jason got a hair cut by the best hair cutter in town (Mom). We also ate steak for dinner and had fun spending time together. It is 3 hours one way and thought it is great to be so close to family.

＜メモリアルデー＞
今日はメモリアルデーで祝日でした。
メモリアルデーは、あらゆる戦争・軍事行動で亡くなった兵士を称える日で、家族や友達とピクニックに行ったり、バーベキューをしたりするそうです。
日本のお盆みたいな感じなのかな？
私達はジェイソンの実家、アラバマへ。
今回はジェイソンが３分の２、私が３分の１を運転しました。
最近は私もちょこちょこ運転していますが、なかなかアメリカ人のスピードについて行けません。
ケンくんは道中ほとんど寝てくれて、とてもいい子でした。
アラバマでは、ジェイソンはお母さんに髪を切ってもらったり、お父さんが焼いたステーキとお母さんの美味しい手料理をみんなで食べたり、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
実家までは片道３時間の道のりですが、日帰りで行ける距離に家族がいるのはいいものです。

Away Game -Seattle-

Yesterday was the game against Seattle. Jason left last Saturday. The first time we played at home to Seattle we lost. I watched the game on the internet. At the beginning of the second half one Silverback's player got a red card which change the whole game. The final score was 4 to 2 to Seattle. Jason scored his 4th goal. It was lonely without Jason for 3 days, but Kenshi and I were able to spend some quality time together.

昨日はシアトルで試合があったため、ジェイソンは土曜日からシアトルへ。
シアトルは、今月の初めにホームゲームで敗退したチームです。
私はインターネットで試合を見ていました。
途中シルバーバックスの選手がレッドカードを出されるなど、かなりピリピリした試合でした。
結果は４－２でシルバーバックスの敗退。
試合には負けてしまいましたが、ジェイソンが今シーズン４得点目のゴールを決めました！
グッジョブ、ジェイソン！
ジェイソンがいない３日間は、寂しかったし、ちょっぴり不安でしたが、ケンくんとじっくり向き合うことができ、とてもいい時間を過ごせました。

Home Game -Minnesota-

Today was a home game against Minnesota Thunder. Mom, Katie and Corey came to watch. It was cold outside so I wrapped up Kenshi in his blanket and Grandma's coat to protect him from the cold. The silverbacks won 2 to 1! Jason scored and also had an assist! Before I was not that interested in soccer, but it has become very interesting to watch. I love cheering for Jason.

＜ホームゲーム　－ミネソタ－＞
今日はミネソタ・サンダーとのホームゲームがありました。
ジェイソンのお母さん、そして今日は妹と妹の友達も見に来てくれました。
今日は天候が悪く、とても寒かったです。
ケンくんもブランケットと、おばあちゃんから借りたジャケットをグルグル巻きにして完全防備。
ミネソタは、とても守りの強いチーム。
しかし、結果は２－１でシルバーバックスの勝利！
そして！ジェイソンが今シーズン初のアシスト、プラス！３得点目のゴールを決めました！
以前はそれほどサッカーに興味がなかった私ですが、ジェイソンの試合を見るようになってからサッカーがおもしろくなってきました。
本当にジェイソンの応援をするのが好きです。
シーズンはまだ始まったばかり。
最後までジェイソンが頑張れるよう、しっかり彼を支えていきたいです。

5 Months

Kenshi turned 5 months today! It has been very fast. We measured and weighed him, Height 26.6 inches and 15 lbs. He is getting taller but his weight has not changed much which worries me a little but is growing fast. He can ( when he wants to ) roll over now.

＜５ヶ月＞
ケンくん、今日で５ヶ月になりました！
早いもので、もう５ヶ月です。
今回もお家で身体測定をしました。
体重６８００ｇ、身長６７．５ｃｍ。
身長は順調に伸びているものの、体重があまり増えていないのが気になります。
元気なので問題はないと思いますが。
最近は寝返りもするようになりました。
（気が向いた時だけ頑張ってます）

Korean Food

Today we went to eat Korean for lunch. Jason ate Bibinbap and I had Toppogi. It was extremely spicy but very good.

＜韓国料理＞
今日は、ランチに韓国料理を食べに行きました。
ジェイソンはビビンバ、私はトッポギをオーダー。
とーっても辛かったけど、両方とも美味しかったです。
ちなみに、ジェイソンはビビンバが大好きです。
日本料理も韓国料理もいけるアメリカ人です（笑）。

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day. This is Kenshi's first mother's day. Today at church the children gave all the mothers Chocolate. A little girl came and gave me a chocolate, but that was not all it was LINDT chocolate, my favorite!

＜母の日＞
母の日、おめでとうございます。
ケンくんが生まれて初めての母の日です。
今日は、教会で子供達が女性全員にチョコレートを渡していました。
私のところにも女の子がチョコレートを渡しに来てくれました。
しかも！私の大好きな『Ｌｉｎｄｔ』のチョコレート♪
チョコレートで大喜びしてしまう私ですが（笑）、ちゃんとママしてますよ～！

Big Baby

Today when we went to the bank, Kenshi started talking (making noises) and a worker at the bank started to talk to me. "Boy or Girl? How many months?" she asked. When I answered a "Boy almost 5 months old", she said "He is big! He looks like he is six months! Is he on formula or breastmilk?" she asked. He is on both, and seems to be growing well which makes us very happy.

＜ビッグベイビー＞
今日、近くの銀行へ行った時のこと。
ケンくんが「アーアー」とお話を始めると、近くにいた行員の女性が話しかけてきました。
「男の子？何ヶ月？」と聞かれ、「男の子で、もうすぐで５ヶ月です」と答えると、「大きいねー！６ヶ月くらいに見えるわ！」さらに「何で育ててるの？母乳？」と聞かれました。
ケンくんは、母乳とミルク混合で育てていますが、発育がいいようです。
アメリカ人に「ビッグベイビー」と言われるくらいなので、大きいんでしょうね。
発育がいいのは、親としても嬉しい限りです。
これからも元気に成長してね。

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Today for lunch we went to a team barbeque. We started talking to the assistant coach (His name is Gaucho) and found out that he had played in Japan and he started remembering Japanese words. Someone asked "If will Kenshi play soccer when he gets older?" and Tony McManus said "No he will be a Ninja!" After the barbeque we went to do vaccinations for Kenshi. He got 3 shots and of course he cried, but after 2 minutes the tough little boy stopped crying. After the shots we went to watch the Silverbacks PDL play the Liverpool youth team. Alot of people came to watch the game and the Silverbacks won 2 to 0.

＜バーベキュー・予防接種・サッカー観戦＞
今日はお昼にチームメイトのマンションでバーベキューがありました。
副監督の一人は昔Ｊリーグでプレーしていたこともあり、ジーコ監督、Ｊリーグ、日本語の話で盛り上がりました。
チームメイトの一人が「謙志はサッカー選手になるの？」と聞いてくると、他のチームメイトが「いや、彼は忍者になるよ！」と言っていました（笑）。
バーベキューの後は、ケンくんの予防接種へ。
注射を受けた後はやっぱり大泣きでしたが、２分後にはケロッとしていました。
夜は、シルバーバックスのＰＤＬチームと、イギリス・リバプールのユースチームの試合へ。
いつものシルバーバックスの試合より観客が多い気がしました…。
結果は２－０でシルバーバックスの勝利！
試合は期待していたほどではありませんでしたが、シルバーバックスが勝って良かったです。

Bakery & Soccer Club

Here in Atlanta there is a Japanese Bakery. It has a pretty good selection of cakes and sweets. After 5 o'clock the sweet bread is 1 dollar and the loafs are half off. We go once a week and (we try to make it after 5 ). We also went today and Jason's favorite danish loaf was sold out. There was a really good looking cake but I held off for today. So far I have had a craving for japanese food but always have a craving for japanese sweets. After the bakery, we went to see the practice of a member of the church who is coaching 4 to 6 year old kids. Jason had to go referee so before we left he to 5 minutes with the kids. During the practice one kid just sat down on the ground, another little girl started hitting the ball with a stick, and another boy almost started to cry because he got his ball taken away, but they were very cute running around chasing the ball.
I wonder if Kenshi will play soccer when he gets a little bigger.

＜パン屋さん＆サッカークラブ＞
アトランタには日本のパン屋さんがあります。
種類もそこそこあり、ケーキなどスイーツも置いてあります。
５時以降は菓子パンは＄１、ローフは半額になるのが魅力的なんですよね。
私達は週一ペースで、もちろん５時以降をねらって行っています（笑）。
そして、今日も行ってきました！
今日はジェイソンの大好きなデニッシュローフが売り切れていて残念…。
おいしそうなケーキもありましたが、今日は我慢。
今のところ、日本食は恋しくなっていませんが、やっぱり日本のスイーツは恋しくなります。
パン屋さんに行った後は、教会の人がコーチをしているサッカークラブの練習を見に行きました。
ここでは、４～６才の子供達が練習をしていました。
ジェイソンは審判の仕事があったので２０分くらいで帰りましたが、５分くらい指導させてもらいました。
途中で座り込んでしまう子、足じゃなくて棒でボールを運ぶ子、友達にボールをとられて泣きべそをかく子、いろんな子がいましたが、子供達が一生懸命ボールを追いかける姿はとても可愛らしかったです。
ケンくんも大きくなったらサッカーをするのかな～？

Now that Kenshi's neck is getting stronger we let him try the Johnny jump up that our friends gave us. He still may be a little young for it.

首もしっかりしてきたので、友達から頂いたジョニージャンプアップをしてみました。
が、ケンくんは「何これ～？」って感じでちょっと興味なし。
これから少しずつ遊んでいこうね。

Home Game -Seattle-

Yesterday the Silverbacks played against the Seattle Sounders. Seattle is a very strong team. Jason had some good shots but couldn't score and they lost 2 to o. Mom came to the game and stayed the night with us.

＜ホームゲーム　－シアトル－＞
昨日はシアトル・サンダーとのホームゲームがありました。
シアトルは、これまた強いチームです。
ジェイソンが何度もいいシュートを打ちましたが、得点につながらず２－０で敗退。
でも、今回もジェイソンのいいプレーをたくさん見ることができました。
試合にはジェイソンのお母さんも来てくれて、昨日は我が家にお泊りでした。
ケンくんはおばあちゃんと楽しい時間を過ごせて良かったね。
