Yuushi started to smile a lot.

Yuushi Jay!

July 2nd at 8:42 pm, Yuushi Jay McLaughlin was born. He was 8 lbs 10 oz. and 51.5 cm long. Yuushi and I are healthy and spending our time at home. Jason's Mom came on the 2nd to help us and is staying for 3 weeks. Grandma is taking Kenshi to parks and they go with Jason to coaching and play for hours and hours.

This book is the book of Mormon. My Papa and Mama love this book, too.

Mother's Day a Day Late

Jason and Kenshi celebrated Mother's day. We went to the Africa area in the zoo.


At night, we went to a Thai resturant. I ordered spring rolls and basil fried rice. It was very delicious!

Today was Children's day in Japan. We celebrated Children's day with delicious food. I made Strawberry-Daifuku and Sushi. At night, Suzuki came to our house and he made Soba for us. It was very delicious and we had a good time.

Busy Busy

Kenshi was into a lot of things today. first, I had put the washed clothes in the basket, and Kenshi took all the clothes out and spread them around the room (This is usual). Then Kenshi went with Papa outside. He had 2 pine cones in each hand and was quite happy. They were on there way back inside when Papa smelled something funny. Papa looked real close at the pine cones Kenshi was holding and in one hand he had dog poo!

＜忙しい日＞
今日はいろんなことをやらかしてくれたケンくん。
まずは、乾燥し終わった洗濯物をカゴに入れていると、全部ひっぱり出して部屋中にばら撒いてくれました。
（まぁ、こんなことは当たり前）
そして、私が夕食の準備をしている間、パパとお外に出かけたケンくん。
松ぼっくりを両手に持ってご機嫌だったそう。
家に入ろうと玄関の前まで来た時、なにか異臭に気付いたパパ。
ケンくんが持ってた松ぼっくりをよ～く見ると、片っぽの松ぼっくりには犬のウ〇チが～！

バスルームに直行して手を洗ってもらってるケンくん。

But that wasn't all. While Papa was cleaning up after dinner, I was doing laundry, and I heard something in the bathroom. I looked into the bathroom and Kenshi was using the toilet brush to clean the toilet. Kenshi has always liked trying to play with the toilet brush. I knew one day he would get a hold of it. This is Kenshi lately. Makes Papa and Mama tired.

今日のケンくんはこれでは終わりません。
パパは夕食の後片付け、私は洗濯物をしていると、なにやらバスルームから嫌～な音が…。
恐る恐るバスルームを覗いてみると…、タワシでバシャバシャとトイレのお掃除をしているケンくーん！
前からトイレのタワシが気になっていたケンくん。
いつかやってくれるだろうと思っていました。
最近のケンくんはこんな感じでパパとママはヘトヘトです。

But it makes Papa and Mama laugh. While we are eating dinner, it was kind of quiet, we looked around and Kenshi was inside the plastic bucket.

でも、こんなおもしろいこともしてパパとママを笑わかしてくれます。

私達が夕食を食べている間、静かになったケンくんを見てみると、いつの間にかカゴにスッポリ入っていました（笑）。

Breakfast

Because Jason has a game tonight there was no practice this morning.(During preseason he has practice from 8-10 and 12 to 2.) This morning he made pancakes. He said they would not taste good, but he did a great job. They looked and tasted good. Thanks Papa!

＜朝ごはん＞
今日は夜に試合があるため、いつものトレーニングがなかったジェイソン。
（プリシーズンの間は、午前中は８時半から１０時、午後からは１２時から２時の２回、トレーニングがあります）
今朝はホットケーキとワッフルを作ってくれました～！
自信がないと言っていたけど、きれいに焼けてとても美味しかったです。
ありがとう、パパ！

Kenshi thought they were very good too! (Today was the first day he tasted a chocolate chip. But also the last for a while.)

Guys Cooking

Suzuki and Nishimura came over tonight and made dinner. Suzuki made curry, Nishimura made pasta, and I made a salad.

チームメイトの鈴木さんと西村さんが我が家へ夕食を作りに来てくれました！
鈴木さんはカレー、西村さんはパスタを作ってくれました。
私はサラダとごはんを用意しただけ。

We also invited Tony because he likes curry. While the food was being made, Tony and Jason played blocks with Kenshi.

It rains just about everyday here in Portland. On days like this we head to the playground inside the mall.

Helping

Kenshi is at that age where he wants to do everything Mama and Papa are doing. (Every morning he sees me get on the scale and check my weight, so he does too. )

The Mall

This afternoon we went to the mall. (Kenshi seemed to like this hat and was wearing it while wandering around the store.)

Everyone in the store was wearing pirate clothes in the store, and the guy in the moss outfit was scaring people as they walked by. Kenshi's face said he didn't like him, but Kenshi was very interested.

スタッフ全員が海賊の衣装を着た怪しいお店の前に立っていて、通る人たちを驚かしていたモンスター。
嫌そうな顔をしていたケンくんですが、彼に興味津々でした。

On the way to the mall we saw the Cherry Blossoms. Cherry Blossoms here don't compare to Japan's, but it was great to be able to see them.

モールに行く途中に見かけた桜。
日本の桜とは比べものになりませんが、異国の地で桜を見ることができるだけでも幸せかな。

Preseason Game

Today the Portland Timbers played the New York Red Bulls. The weather was supposed to be bad, so Kenshi and I stayed home. The score was 0-0. Jason played the 2nd half. He hit heads with a player on the other team and came home with a bump right above the temple. I hope he doesn't have any big injuries this year.

＜練習試合＞
今日はＭＬＳのニューヨーク・レッドブルズとの練習ホーム試合。
今日も天気が悪く、雨が降る予報だったので、私とケンくんはお留守番。
試合の結果は、０－０で引き分け。
ジェイソンは後半４５分出場したそうです。
相手選手のヘディングをこめかみに受け、大きなタンコブを作って帰ってきました。
これから半年間、大きなケガや病気をしませんように。

We arrived in Portland this month on the 2nd. Now that we finally got settled in, I will update little by little.

私達は今月の２日に無事ポートランドに引っ越しました。
やっと生活が落ち着いてきたので、今までの日記を少しずつ更新していこうと思います。

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

After dinner we went to Krispy Kreme. We were able to see how they make the doughnuts and the smell inside the store was the smell of happiness.

＜クリスピー・クリーム・ドーナツ＞
夕食を食べた後、クリスピー・クリーム・ドーナツへ。
ドーナツを作る工程も少し見れたし、店内に漂うドーナツの甘～い匂いで幸せな気分でした。

Lately Kenshi fills his mouth full when he eats. He looks like a squirrel.

最近のケンくんは食べ物を口の中いっぱいに入れて食べます。

Reading in the Bookstore

In the Japanese supermarket near our house there is a bookstore. It is pretty good size and has writing materials, cds, and dvds.

＜立ち読み＞
家の近くにある日本のスーパーの中には紀伊國屋書店が入っています。
規模もそこそこ大きく、文房具、ＣＤ、ＤＶＤなども置いてあります。

Since getting married and having Kenshi, it had been a long time since I spent time in the bookstore, but today we had some time, so I read a little. While I was looking around and reading Kenshi and Jason went to the children's section. Kenshi had skipped his nap, so he was hard to deal with, but it gave me 15 to 20 minutes and I left refreshed. Thanks Jason.

結婚してケンくんが生まれてからは本屋さんに長居することもなくなったけど、今日は少し時間があったのでちょっとだけ立ち読みさせてもらいました。
その間、ジェイソンとケンくんも本屋さんの絵本コーナーに。
お昼寝をスキップしてしまったケンくん、大暴れで大変そうでしたが…。
１５～２０分くらいの間でしたが、すごくリフレッシュできた気分。
ありがとう、ジェイソン。

Japanese

We went to eat with teammate Suzuki and at the moment trying out Nishimura. Suzuki Takayuki once played for the Japanese national team. Nishimura Takuro played for Urawa and Oomiya in the J-League before coming here. We really had fun eating together. Kenshi was at first just checking them out, but he soon warmed up to them. The restaurant was a very good Japanese restaurant near our apartment. Everything that was brought out tasted just like in Japan. It was so good!

＜日本人＞
チームメイトの鈴木さんと、今ティンバースでトライアウトを受けている西村さんとごはんを食べに行きました。

鈴木さんは、元日本代表の鈴木隆行選手。

西村さんは、今まで浦和や大宮でプレーされてきた西村卓朗選手。
２人とも本当に気さくで楽しい方達です。

初めは警戒していたケンくんも、途中から２人と仲良くなっていました。

今日行ったお店は、家の近くにある日本の居酒屋風のレストラン。

出てくるもの全て本物の日本の味！美味しかったぁ～！

It had been a good experience for Jason to play with guys that have so much experience. Yestereday the coach called the Suzuki, Nishimura and Jason "The Japanese team".

チームメイトとも日本語で話せて嬉しそうなジェイソン。

プレー面でも経験の多い２人から刺激をもらっているみたいです。

昨日の練習で、コーチが鈴木さんと西村さん、ジェイソンを「日本人チーム」と呼んでいたそうです。

ジェイソン、日本人扱いされてる（笑）。

First Dance in Portland

When Kenshi woke up this morning, he had a lot of energy.
