Veranda Gardening

When we got back to Alabama and looked at the vegetables, the cucumber plant was dead. So sad.

アラバマから帰ってベランダの野菜達を見てみると、きゅうちゃんが悲惨なことに…。
（ジェイソンは、野菜達を｢きゅうちゃん｣、｢茄子くん｣、｢トマちゃん｣、｢ピーちゃん｣と呼んでいます・笑）

What happened to those green leaves and yellow flowers.

あの青々とした葉っぱや黄色い花はどこへ…（涙）。

The tomato plant has grown very tall and has fruit growing. We were surprised at how the green pepper plant has come back to life. It wasn't doing well and we had almost given up on it, but it is growing well. We were a little late on picking the eggplant. The color had changed and there were a lot of seeds inside.

トマトはものすごく成長し、実が何個かなっていました♪

意外だったのがピーマン。

ずっと元気がなく、半分諦めていましたが、少し成長していました。

茄子は収穫するのが遅く、変色し、種だらけでした。

Welcome Home

Jason got back safely from his 10 day road trip. Four games in 10 days and quite a hard schedule, but seeing Jason's smile I was relieved.

＜おかえりなさい＞
ジェイソンが１０日間の遠征から無事に帰ってきました！
１０日間で４試合というハードスケジュールでかなり疲れていましたが、久しぶりにジェイソンの笑顔を見れてホッとしました。

Jason brought back a gift from Vancouver. He brought my favorite chocolate from Vancouver, "Purdy's"! We went to the chocolate factory to buy chocolate often. He also brought Kenshi some books and me a magazine from "Book Off" a Japanese book store. When he goes on long road trips he always brings me something. Thank you Jason, I love you!

ジェイソンが遠征先のバンクーバーでお土産を買ってきてくれました♪
まずは、バンクーバーで私のお気に入りだった『パーディーズチョコレート』！
よくチョコレート工場にチョコレートを買いに行ってました（笑）。
もう一つは、ジェイソンのお気に入りだった『ブックオフ』から。
ケンくんには日本のこどもの本。
私には日本の女性雑誌。
そして、自分には（もちろん）『西村京太郎シリーズ』！
長い遠征に行く時には、いつも何かしらお土産を買ってきてくれるジェイソン。
ありがとう。I love you!

This trip they played Montreal twice, Rochester and Vancouver. They lost all four games. He came back emotionally and physically tired.

今回の遠征では、モントリオール・インパクトと２試合、ロチェスター・ライノス、バンクーバー・ホワイトキャップスと試合をしました。
残念ながら、４試合とも敗退してしまいました。
精神的にも体力的にもかなり疲れたと思います。
本当にご苦労様。

Alabama

Jason left on a road trip on the 19th and didn't come back until the 28th, so Kenshi and I went to Alabama from the 19th to the 27th. This time I drove to Alabama myself. I followed Dad on the way down because he had come to Atlanta on a business trip. It is a 3 hour drive and I was quite worried, but everthing was just fine. We had a great time in Alabama!

１９日から２８日までジェイソンが遠征でいなくなるので、ケンくんと私は１９日から２７日までジェイソンの実家へ。
今回は私がアラバマまで運転しました！
と言っても、行きはジェイソンのお父さんがちょうどアトランタに仕事で来ていたので、お父さんの後ろについてアラバマへ。
片道３時間の道のり。かなり不安でしたが、意外と大丈夫でした！
そして、アラバマではジェイソンの家族ととても楽しい時間を過ごしました♪

Cutting the Grass

Kenshi cut the grass with Grandma today. Even though Kenshi is scared of the vacuum, a louder lawnmower didn't bother him at all.

いつも掃除機の音を恐がるケンくん、もっと大きな音をたてる芝刈り機に乗っても恐がりませんでした。

Football

We went to watch the Wetumpka football team. The rules were a little different than real football because it was a scrimmage, but I don't really understand the rules of real football so I had no idea what was going on today. So I watched Katie's cheerleading the entire time.

＜フットボール＞
ケイティが通う高校のフットボールの試合を見に行きました。
今回は違うルールでしていたので、ただでさえフットボールのルールがチンプンカンプンな私は何をしているのか全く分かりませんでした。
なので、終始ケイティのチアリーディングを見ていました。

Taste Testing

I went with Mom to the taste testing party. Katie's cheerleading squad was have a cookbook fundraiser, and Mom put one of my recipe's in. My recipe is "Delicious chicken rice and vegetable". That morning Mom and I made some to take to the taste testing party. I got this dish from a cooking show and changed it a little. Jason thought his family would like it so when we went home I made it for the family. Mom liked it and called it Tae's Dinner.

＜試食会＞
クックブックの試食会にお母さんと行ってきました。
ケイティが所属するチアリーディング部もクックブックを出していて、今回お母さんが私のレシピを載せてくれました。
私のレシピは『デリシャス　チキン、ライス＆ベジタブル』。
この日は朝からお母さんと一緒に試食用の『デリシャス　チキン、ライス＆ベジタブル』を作りました。
この料理はバンクーバーに住んでいた時、料理番組で作っていたものをアレンジしたものです。
初めて作った時にジェイソンが「僕の家族も好きだと思う」と言っていたので、ジェイソンの実家に行った時に何度か作ってみんなに食べてもらいました。
お母さんも気に入ってくれ、レシピを教えた時に料理名が分からなかったので、『Tae's Dinner』とネーミングしていました（笑）。

『クックブックの試食会』とは…
色んな団体が個人のレシピをクックブックとして冊子にまとめ、その中から何種類かを会場で試食として出します。
試食を食べて気に入ったらクックブックを買うといった感じです。

I had so much fun trying different dishes.

Grandma Copley

The last time Kenshi saw Grandma Copley was at Jon and Aubrey's wedding. This time Grandma Copley and Kenshi got to play alot.

＜ひいおばあちゃん＞

おばあちゃんとはジョンとオーブリーの結婚式以来。

今回はケンくんもひいおばあちゃんにたくさん遊んでもらい、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。

Birthday Dinner

For my birthday we went to a steak house. After eating steak they came and said "Happy Birthday!" and brought Ice Cream. Even though I am 30 years old I still get excited about ice cream. Even though Jason was gone I had alot of fun with the family. After dinner we went home and watched Jason's game on the internet. Today they played the Rochester Rhinos. We lost 2-0.

３０歳になってもアイスクリームで喜んでしまう私です。

ジェイソンのいない誕生日でしたが、ジェイソンの家族と一緒に過ごせてとても楽しかったです。
家に帰ってからは、インターネットでジェイソンの試合を観戦しました。

この日の相手はロチェスター・ライノス。
結果は０－２で敗退してしまいました。

Kenshi Loves Grandma!

Kenshi loves his Grandma. When I walk with Kenshi, holding his hands, he gives me directions to the room where Grandma is. If I try to go into another room, he will say "nnnnnnn!" and get mad. I was very surprised at this. Grandma was just sitting there at the computer quietly, but somehow Kenshi knew where she was.

＜おばあちゃん大好き！＞

ケンくんはおばあちゃんが大好き！

ケンくんの手を持って家の中を歩いていると、おばあちゃんがいる部屋に行くように指示してきます。

私がおばあちゃんがいる部屋とは違う方向に行こうとすると“ん゛ー！”と怒り出します。
これには私もビックリ！

その時におばあちゃんが声を出したり、音を立てていたわけではないのに、どうしてケンくんはおばあちゃんがいる場所が分かったんだろう？

First Step?

When I was holding Kenshi's hand helping him stand, Kenshi wanted to go to Grandma so I let go of his hands and he took a step. Maybe it was just by chance, but it was a first step?

＜初めの一歩？＞
キッチンでケンくんの手を持って立たせていると、ケンくんがおばあちゃんの方に行きたがったので手を離すと、一歩だけひとりで歩くことができました！
偶然と言えば偶然だけど、一歩は一歩…かな？

His performance in last weeks game against Charleston was great.

Today Grandpa and Grandma came. Kenshi had a lot of fun playing with them.

In one week it will be my birthday, so we went to the mall to get me some presents.

Play Ground Debut!
Mama and Papa were tired so we took a rest. At first, Kenshi was just sitting looking around checking it out, but when he got used to his surrounding he started crawling around.

8 months

Today Kenshi turned 8 months. He is very active, crawling everywhere and trying to stand all the time. He has a record of standing by himself for 10 seconds. They grow up so fast. (so fast I can't keep up with the blog)

＜８ヶ月＞

今日でケンくんも８ヶ月！

はいはいもつかまり立ちも上手になり、本当に活発なケンくん。

つい最近、１０秒間ひとりで立つことができました！

子供の成長は本当に早いなぁ～と改めて関心します。

（ブログの更新がケンくんの成長についていけてません…。）

Stay Home

Today Jason is away in Vancouver for 3 days, so Kenshi and I are taking care of things at home.

Home Game -Miami-

Today we played Miami at home. This evening the temperature dropped a little and was so cool that it was hard to believe it was August. We tied 0-0. Today Mom came to see the game.

Veranda Gardening

Our garden now has a big eggplant growing. The tomato and cucumber don't have any fruit, but they do have some yellow flowers blooming. The greenpepper plant is not growing at all. I wonder why...?

Home Game -Vancouver-

Today we played the Vancouver Whitecaps. Vancouver is where Jason played last year. This year Hirano Takashi, who played for the Japanese National team, is playing for Vancouver. Jason and I were looking forward to this game. The result was 3-2 Silverbacks.

＜ホームゲーム　－バンクーバー－＞
バンクーバー・ホワイトキャップスとのホームゲームがありました。
バンクーバーは去年ジェイソンが所属していたチームです。
そして、今年バンクーバーには元日本代表の平野孝選手がいます。
この日の試合をジェイソンも私もとても楽しみにしていました！
結果は３－２でシルバーバックスの勝利！

After the game, we talked to Hirano for a few minutes.
試合後、平野選手と少しお話ができました。

Hair Cut

Kenshi's hair was getting long so I gave him a haircut. I have cut his hair around his ears and neck a couple of times, but this time I cut his bangs. While I was cutting I didn't think so, but when I got finished I had cut too much. When Jason got home from work he also said "It looked kind of funny". Jason doesn't usually say stuff like that, so it must have looked really funny. After that I fixed it. Jason said he wanted his hair cut so I offered, but he said not this time... Mom cuts everyone's hair so I want to learn to. Kenshi hang in there until I get better!

＜散髪＞
ケンくんの髪がけっこう伸びていたので散髪をしました。
今までにも何度か耳のまわりや襟足を切りましたが、今回は前髪も切ってみました。
切っている間は何も思わなかったけど、切り終わってみると、あら～パッツン！
仕事から帰ってきたジェイソンも「ちょっとおかしいね」と一言。
ジェイソンがそういう風に言うのは珍しいので、よっぽどおかしいんだと思い、その後少し修正しました。
ジェイソンも少し前から散髪したいと言っていたので、「私が切ってあげようか？」と言うと、「いや、遠慮しときます」と言われてしまいました…（笑）。
ジェイソンのお母さんみたいに、家族みんなの髪を切ってあげられるように私も頑張らないと！
ママが腕を上げるまでは、ケンくん我慢してね～！

It looks better...　ちょっとは良くなったかな…。

UGOKIBURI

Kenshi now crawls to wherever he wants so I always have to keep a close watch. We have to be careful about what is laying around the house. He cant sit still, so Jason gave him a nickname, UGOKIBURI (UGOKI=moving, GOKIBURI=cockroach).

＜ウゴキブリさん＞

最近のケンくんは、はいはいをしてどこにでも行ってしまうので、本当に目が離せません。

うっかり、サイドテーブルにコップでも置いていると、目を離したスキにサイドテーブルの上はビショビショ。

これからは家の中に置くものも気を付けないといけません。

本当にじっとしていることのできないケンくん。

そんなケンくんにパパが付けたニックネームは、「ウゴキブリさん」（よく動く＋ゴキブリ）。

7 Stitches

The day that the family came, Jason was playing soccer tennis with before practice and hit heads with one of his teammates. Jason had to get 7 stitches (same as his number!) right above is left eye. When I got a call from Jason right in the middle of his practice I was surprised and very worried, but the cut will soon heal so I was very relieved.

＜７針＞

ジェイソンの家族がアトランタに来る日、ジェイソンが練習前にチームメイトとサッカーテニスをしていて、チームメイトとぶつかり、左目の上を７針（背番号と同じ７！）縫うケガをしました。

練習中のはずのジェイソンから「病院に行ってくる」と電話があった時は、何事？！と、とても不安でしたが、傷自体はすぐ治るみたいなので一安心です。

Today we played the Charleston Battery. The final score was 2-1 Silverbacks won!

Vacation

Dad, Mom, and Katie came over on the 30th and stayed with us for 3 days. From July 31st to the 4th of August, Georgia had a no tax sale weekend, so 2 days were spent at the mall shopping. Not only did we have fun shopping, we got some good exercise too! On the 2nd night Mom babysat for us so we could go on a date. We had a good time, Thanks Mom! On the 3rd day in the morning Mom Katie and I all went to the apartment gym. I always go by myself, but with 3 it was fun. After that we went to the Church bookstore and then to lunch. It was a fun three days.

＜バケーション＞
ジェイソンの家族がバケーションで３０日から３日間、我が家へ泊まりに来てくれました。
２日間はＭａｌｌへショッピングに行きました。
ジョージア州は３１日から４日間、Ｎｏ Ｔａｘでどこもセール♪
Ｍａｌｌをグルグル、楽しく買い物できた上にいい運動にもなりました！
そして、２日目の夜は、お母さんにケンくんのベビーシッターをお願いして、ジェイソンと私はデートへ。
とてもいい時間を過ごせました。お母さん、ありがとう！
３日目の朝は、ケイティとお母さん、私の３人でアパートのジムへ。
いつも１人でしている運動も、３人だとさらに楽しく感じました。
その後は、みんなで教会の本屋さん、ランチへ。
とても楽しい３日間でした。
