感謝祭 Thanksgiving

今年もあっという間に感謝祭の季節。
今年の感謝祭は、ジェイソンの両親、おばあちゃん、私達、食事に私達のお友達も招待して、楽しい感謝祭を過ごしました。

This year went by so fast and it is already Thanksgiving.
This year we had Thanksgiving with Jason's parents, Grandma Copley,  us and we invited some friends to join us.
We had a great time.

お友達が作ってくれたロール、お義母さんと私、ジェイソン、ケンくんが作った料理。
全部すんごく美味しかったです☆

The rolls were made by our friends. Jason's mom and I cooked the food with Jason and Kenshi's help.
All of it was wonderful!




美味しい料理でお腹を満たした後は、お外遊び～！

After filling our tummies with good food, it was time to go outside!






可愛いカレンちゃんを前に、かなりレディファーストだったケンくん。
カレンちゃんのためにお馬さんをトレーラーの上まで運んであげていました。
なんて素敵な息子なの？！（←親ばか～。笑）

感謝祭の翌日は、いよいよクリスマスの準備！
ツリーを出して、オーナメントを飾ったり、家の中をクリスマス仕様に模様替え。

The day after Thanksgiving was time to put up Christmas decorations!
We got the tree out, hung ornaments and made the inside look like Christmas.

感謝祭の翌日から少し冷え込み始めたアラバマですが、感謝祭当日はエアコンに半袖でした～！

The day after Thanksgiving started to get chilly, but we had the airconditioner on for Thanksgiving Day!

おせんべい Japanese Crackers

日本人の姉妹宣教師からもらったおせんべいを頬ばるボーイズ。
醤油味が大好きなこの二人。
この醤油味のおせんべいもペロリです。

The Boys are eating Japanese Crackers that the Japanese sister missionary in our ward gave us.
These two love the soy sauce flavor.
The soy sauce flavored crackers were quickly eaten.




美味しすぎたのか、この顔・・・。笑

アラバマ生活 Life in Alabama

もちろんケンカもよくしますが、ケンくんはユウくんが「だいっき～！」、ユウくんもケンくんが「だいっき～！」だそうです。

（だいっき～＝大好き）

ボーイズと公園に行ったり、図書館のストーリータイムに行ったり、ブロックで遊んだり、粘土で遊んだり、お絵描きをしたり、たまに一緒にお昼寝をしたり。

（なんだか毎日遊んでるだけみたい・・・。まぁ、実際そうなんだけど。笑）

take the boys to the park and to the library for storytime, play blocks, play with playdough, draw pictures, and every now and then I will take a nap with the boys.

(It seems like I just play everyday, but that is just what I do.)

と、こんな感じで私達はアラバマ生活を楽しんでいます！

再開！ We are Back!

なんと、9ヶ月ぶりのブログ更新。
この9ヶ月間、何の変化もない私達のブログをチェックしていて下さった皆さん、すみませんでした。
お休みしていた理由（言い訳）は色々ありますが、とにかく、ブログ再開します！

It has been 9 months since I updated.

Throughout these 9 months, those of you who have checked our unchanging blog, I apologize.

There are many reasons (excuses) for the break, but we have begun again!




※2009年4月から日本語版と英語版でブログを分けて書いていましたが、またこちらで日本語と英語を一緒に書いていこうと思います。
（もちろん、英語はジェイソン担当ですが☆）

The Orange Dance

When Kenshi was around a year old, he danced alot. He had not danced lately, but this time while he was eating his favorite mandarin oranges did a little dance.



I am not sure if he was hot after his dance but this is what he did.

Blanket

Kenshi loves his blanket. He knows which blanket is his and which is Yuushi's, and if Yuushi tries to touch his blanket he lets us know.




If I am taking pictures of Yuushi, Kenshi will say "take take" because he wants me to take pictures of him. And when I said smile, he posed like ...


this. After I took the picture he said he wanted to see it.

Today

Kenshi/Mama Team went to the Children's museum. Wether Kenshi was tired, or just wasn't able to focus I don't know, but he was acting like a spoiled child. Today ate a small lunch, played for about an hour and headed home.

I love magnets!

Yuushi / 6 months

Yuushi became 6 months on the 2nd. Right now he is only breastfeeding and as he gets bigger he drinks more and his feedings have become more frequent, usually waking up between 2 to 4 times during the night. Because of this mama gets very tired. We tried the bottle, but he won't have it. Kenshi at 6 months had already started baby food. We will try baby food real soon.

Cereal

After eating dinner and taking a bath Kenshi was supposed to be ready for bed. While I was cleaning up, I heard Kenshi open the cabinet and eat some cereal. Kenshi ate one handful of cereal and then said "done!", and shut the cabinet doors. He then opened them back up signing and saying "more, more" ate another handful of cereal.

Children's Museum

Today, Team Mama/Kenshi and Team Papa/Yuushi split, going different places. Papa/Yuushi went back home to study while Mama/Kenshi played at the Children's museum.


Here is the rock quarry where the children dig with shovels and play with rubber rocks. The children were so serious about digging, it made me wonder, why children like to dig so much.


Kenshi loves the magnets. When other children got close he would warn them with a glare. Kenshi, lets share.


In the office corner, Kenshi is very busy answering the phone.

ZOOLIGHTS

Today we went to Zoolights with the Walker Family and Rion's Family. Since we moved here I have been looking forward to going to the Zoolights. Zoolights started right after Thanksgiving. Cold rainy nights made it difficult to go and as the last day was getting closer we had almost given up. But, Today was not to cold and it was just sprinkling, making it fun Zoolights weather!

This year is the year of the Tiger in Japan. Kenshi with the tiger. Kenshi was pretty scared.

Trick or Treat

Today was the day we had been waiting for, Halloween. In the morning it was raining, but about noon the rain stopped, so we went trick or treating at the zoo.

At the zoo entrance, they were handing out papers with riddles on them, that sent you all around the zoo. Once you got all 6 stamps you got a candy bag.





Jason had to coach so we didn't have much time anyways, but then it started to pour down rain, so we sprinted to the end. We got wet and we were rushing through, but we still had fun.


In the bag was some applesauce, a doughnut voucher, and stickers.



At night we headed to the mall. Almost all of the stores had candy for the kids. I forgot to take my camera so I don't have any pictures, but little dracula had fun going around the mall as well. Thanks to Kenshi, Mama got more candy!

Children's Museum

This is our 3rd time to visit the Children's Museum since we bought a member pass one week ago. It is a really fun place that has a lot of places that children get really into. Because it rains so much in Oregon, I am so thankful to have a place like this.


Today we played at the Clay corner. At the clay corner, not only Kenshi, but Mama and Papa also had fun.


Mama made a Train and Papa made a hamburger for Kenshi.


And of course Kenshi had a lot of fun playing at the train corner.

Update

I have not updated our blog in a long time. Having 3 babies (2 little and 1 big one) is busier than I thought. But I want to keep a family record and I also want to share our stories with the family so I will try and do better and update more often.

Pumpkin Carving

It was about time to get started on the pumpkin carving. I was looking forward to it, but at the same time thinking it could be such a pain. But after getting started, it was quite fun and we really got into it. I had never done it before and was so excited, I carved a cat and Kenshi's favorite, a Train, into the pumpkin. It didn't turn out well so I did not take a picture LOL. On the left is Yuushi's pumpkin and on the right is Kenshi's pumpkin.


After carving pumpkins, the mountainful of seeds that we pulled out, we cooked and ate them. Jason ate the seed covering and all, but I had to peel them. They tasted ''ok'' but I couldnt stop eating them.

Trunk or Treat

We went to the Church Halloween party. Kenshi dressed up as a little Dracula.


Yuushi dressed up as a pea pod that one of our friends let us borrow.


This is Kenshi's Thomas candy bucket that we bought more than a month ago.


At the Trunk or Treat Kenshi got some candy for Mama (Unfortunately Kenshi did not get even one piece. Sorry Kenshi).


It was fun.
